Job Summary:

The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of humanitarian programs at [Your Organization]. The Program Manager will work closely with program teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of humanitarian projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Planning and Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of program strategies and plans that align with [Your Organization]'s humanitarian mission.
  2. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of humanitarian projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  3. Stakeholder Coordination: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  4. Team Management: Provide leadership and support to program teams, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to achieve project objectives.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure that program activities adhere to humanitarian principles, standards, and best practices.
  6. Financial Management: Monitor program budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting to ensure compliance with donor requirements.
  7. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement M&E systems to track program progress and impact, making data-driven decisions for program improvement.
  8. Reporting: Prepare and submit regular and ad-hoc reports to donors and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  9. Emergency Response: Lead rapid response efforts in the event of humanitarian emergencies, coordinating with relevant agencies and authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as international development, humanitarian studies, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of [Specify Minimum Years of Relevant Experience, e.g., 5-7 years] of progressive experience in program management, including at least [Specify Minimum Years in Humanitarian Work, e.g., 3 years] in humanitarian programs.
  • Proven track record in managing and implementing humanitarian projects, including emergency response, with a focus on delivering results within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of humanitarian principles, international humanitarian law, and standards such as the Sphere Handbook.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including project planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leading and motivating diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen, including experience in budget development, financial management, and donor reporting.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian donor regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in emergency response and the ability to lead rapid response efforts in crisis situations.
  • Familiarity with relevant humanitarian coordination mechanisms and clusters.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions for program improvement.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the program location is an advantage.
  • Commitment to upholding humanitarian principles, safeguarding principles, and promoting the welfare of vulnerable populations.
